I use a 2% Glycolic Acid Peel twice a month. When I use it, I don't keep it on for longer than a couple of minutes. I tried to leave it on longer and ended up with tiny little blisters on my chin and around my mouth.
2 minutes seems just about right. Because it takes a couple of minutes to thouroughly wash it off.
Afterwards I apply my mineral makeup. I use Elegant Minerals Makeup.
It covers up the redness I get from my peel. So I can walk around without people wondering why my face is so red. :0)Can i do the glycolic peel myself at home ? how safe is it ? have u tried using it?
I have actually done a glycolic peal at home a couple of times. I got stuff from Dr. Ajay on e-bay. My experience is that the glycolic peel was pretty harsh...left my skin red and blotchy and felt pretty ';burnt.'; But the salicylic peel, which is better for blemish prone skin, was a bit easier to tolerate. Of course, your skin is different, so there's no telling how it might react. If you want to try it, just get a low concentration version and give it a go.Can i do the glycolic peel myself at home ? how safe is it ? have u tried using it?
I think you should go first to see your dermatologist, as not every type of skin can go through a peeling like that. I've heard about people who got their skin all burned for this glycolic thing.
