Okay, how does this glycolic acid 30% skin peel work? My gf just bought one from the internet...?

but we're too scared to try it on...





anyway... it comes with a brush, a bottle of acid, and instruction saying that we have to have sodium bicarb to rinse the acid away...





Is it safe? Do we have to dilute the acid more? with water? distilled wwater? I browse the internet... and found some horrible testimonials after using at home glycolic acid treatment...

OK, don't be scared to try it on, just be sure that you don't have sensitive skin, if you do i recommend not to start with a 30% level glycol, start at a 12% and work your way up. Try it on a small patch of skin for about 1 hour. you may find it does sting once you put it on, but that's normal and it will subside %26amp; wont happen once your skin is used to the product. The stinging is due to polution and environomental factors that occure on the skin, so dont be worried, its just the acid working and gently exfoliating you skin. If you do fine it makes your skin irritated or red you can put it on your face for 1minute and wash it off as a mini mask, and you will have the same exfoliating effect as if it has been on all day and night.





Note: Night time is the best time to use it, as skin is awake from 11pm on.





But if you are using it during the day remember an SPF of 30+ and try to stay out of direct sun light.


Dont dilute it with water......

I've only used 20% but it doesn't dry me out at all and I put it on repeatedly without a worry. Give it a test but not on your face. I love my glycolic acid lotion (Aqua Glycolic) don't worry.
Yes, it is pretty safe. It will probably sting/burn a bit and you might be red afterwards.





You can dilute the acid with distilled water if you want to and I wouldn't leave it on for more than 2-5 minutes, as this is your first time. Cleanse the face first and then just apply a few drops of acid with a cotton ball or pad.





You do need the bi-carb to neutralise the acid. You just mix some in a cup of water and apply it all over. This will probably be quite uncomfortable and may fizz lol. Afterwards just rinse with a cleanser and then apply a hydrating moisturizer or occlusive dressing.





This is a pretty safe level for a peel. Good luck : )
